This Uranus Flagship Workshop follows the successful July 2023 Pasadena workshop on investigations and instruments for cross-discipline science. Join us as we discuss practical aspects of the next planetary flagship and how we can employ new paradigms to better enable robust outer planet exploration. Topics will include understanding mission costing with lessons learned from previous large NASA missions; enabling interdisciplinary and cross-cutting science; defining mission design drivers; and exploring near-term technologies that increase science return. The third day of the workshop will focus on training sessions and related experiences, split between the NASA GSFC and the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab workshop co-hosts. All plenary sessions will be hybrid format, but some activities will be in-person, only.

Transportation
Airports
The Reagan (DCA) Airport is approximately 19 miles away from the conference location.
The Dulles (IAD) Airport is approximately 40 miles away from the conference location.
The Baltimore (BWI) Airport is approximately 22 miles away from the conference location.
The Washington Metrorail train system runs between Dulles and Reagan airports and the Greenbelt Metro Station. There is no metro connection directly from BWI airport, though light rail trains run from the BWI airport down to Union Station. The closest Metro stop to NASA GSFC is the Greenbelt Metro Station, about 5 miles away.
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Access
All visitors to NASA must have a visitor badge and display it at all times. Attendees will be required to show their badge and ID to enter the Center. Foreign nation attendees will require an escort to and from the Main Gate. More information about badging will be provided to registered attendees.
Parking/Rideshare
There is ample parking around the conference location in Building 34. Maps will be provided to registered attendees. Those using a ride share or hotel shuttle can be dropped off at the GSFC Badging Office near the Visitor Center and Main Gate on IceSat Road. Building 34 is a short walk from the Main Gate/Badging Office. More information about carpooling or shuttles will be provided at a later date, please check back.
